Opportunities From: Humane Animal Partners

Volunteer: HAP Event Committee

Over the years, so many of you have helped make Humane Animal Partners’ events successful, whether through planning, promotion, sponsorship outreach, decorating, raffle coordination, flyer distribution, day-of support, or simply jumping in wherever needed. We’re incredibly grateful for your support and excited to introduce a new, more connected way to collaborate on events.
We’re launching a new year-round HAP Events Committee focused on supporting our signature fundraisers and community events throughout the year, with flexible participation options for those interested in helping only with specific initiatives.

This committee will plan and promote events including: Designer Bag Bingo, Muttini Mixer at the Beach, Brunch in the Ballroom, HAP Social Series (coming soon!), Kitten Shower, and more. Committee members may assist with a variety of planning and promotional efforts depending on their interests, skills, and availability, including:

• Brainstorming themes, activities, and attendee experiences
• Sponsorship, raffle, auction, or prize outreach
• Event promotion and community outreach (online & in-person)
• Decorations, logistics, and planning details
• Helping identify new opportunities, partnerships, or creative ideas
• Fundraising strategy and engagement ideas

Monthly committee meetings will be held year-round to keep planning organized, collaborative, and ahead of schedule. There are two ways to participate.
Year-Round Committee Members will stay involved continuously, supporting multiple events as needed and as their time allows.
Event-Specific Committee Members can join the committee during the active planning period for a specific event, then roll off afterward.

Timing Examples:

Designer Bag Bingo Committee: Nov - AprMuttini Mixer Committee: Apr - SeptBrunch in the Ballroom Committee: June - Oct

During meetings, we’ll prioritize the signature event that needs our attention most. After that discussion wraps, we’ll move into planning for other upcoming events. This allows event-specific volunteers to participate only in the portions relevant to them.

Our hope is that this structure creates better communication across events, leading to smoother/ less rushed timelines and more opportunities for creativity and collaboration, plus, less sponsorship fatigue and redundancy... It also allows volunteers to plug in where they’re most passionate, preventing individuals from feeling overloaded (or bored)! If you’ve enjoyed supporting HAP events in the past or have interest in getting more involved, we’d love to have you join us in whatever capacity works best for you. As such, we’ve created this survey to help us tailor your event committee experience:

go.hapde.org/event-committee

We ask all interested members to respond to the survey no later than Monday, May 25th.

We’re so excited to build something fun, collaborative, and impactful with you!
Thanks again for your continued support.
