Volunteer: Food Pantry

Help Support Our Food Pantry Program!

Humane Animal Partners is seeking volunteers to assist with our Food Pantry program at our locations in New Castle County. This program ensures that families in need have access to pet food, helping beloved pets stay with the families who love them.

What You’ll Do:

-Check pantry inventory weekly at our Wilmington and Stanton locations.

-Track supplies and help plan food pickups as needed.

-Drive the shelter van to approved partners (such as Tractor Supply or the Food Bank) to pick up food, load the van, and unload back at the shelter. (HAP provides the funds for purchases.)

-Repackage larger donations into smaller, ready-to-distribute bags.

Requirements:

-Comfortable driving our shelter van (must be 21+ with a valid license).

-Able to commit to regular drop-ins to check the status of the pantries

-Able to lift and carry bags of food.

This is a hands-on way to make a direct impact in the lives of pets and their families. By keeping our pantry stocked and organized, you’ll help ensure no pet in our community goes hungry, and that they stay in homes, and reduce surrenders to shelters.

Locations: HAP Wilmington and Stanton

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly (flexible scheduling)
